Dioramas
Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away I built military models. As a member of the Military Miniature Society of Illinois I built historically accurate models for competition. Eventually I grew tired of the research necessary to achieve historical accuracy but I still enjoyed the modeling. I then turned to building highly detailed, museum quality scenes from the early 20th century thanks to the excellent kits from Brett Gallant of Sierra West Scale Models. I am no longer concerned about the turret numbers on Panzer tanks on the French coast in the Spring of 1944 or how to paint the meticulous desert camo patterns worn by our Marines in the First Gulf War. Now I just have to make sure my early 20th century guys aren't wearing plastic hard hats or using cordless drills! All the skills of the military modeler still come into play so the effort is still fun and rewarding. I hope you enjoy these projects.
